Developing Use Cases - Describing Requirements Using UML Use Cases

Open Enrollment Date: Contact BIS for latest public schedule

In-House Scheduled: As Needed

Course Description

Since the introduction of UML, analysts have been torn between the techniques of this approach and those of Information Engineering. Use Cases are a common bridge between both paradigms. They provide the conclusive step in IE by documenting the primitive process in a detailed manner. They also provide a starting point for development within UML. Their ease of understanding and acceptance by end-users, have proven that the approach is acceptable by all participants in requirements gathering.

This two-day course provides a practical, hands-on introduction to Use Cases. The course is packed with useful information about how to identify and describe Use Cases. In addition it highlights the steps and procedures contained within the requirements phase of analysis and development.

Several exercises and workshops are included to reinforce learning; Peer reviews are used to evaluate the effectiveness of the workshops.

This course has been designed for programmers, analysts, designers, project managers, and end-users who are directly involved in systems development, re-engineering, and business analysis.
